About Ash Chapman Upholsterers:
The founder, and namesake of our Company, ARTHUR SIDNEY HAROLD (ASH) CHAPMAN, did his apprenticeship in England. On moving to Australia, he worked with many of the original treadesmen who serviced Brisbane in the 1950's In 1956 he decided to start his own business, originally working at weekends in his garage, (it was ok to do that in those days).
With hard work and dedication, he built it up to the point where he could no longer cope with his mounting client base. Enter Terry and Pennie Cavell. After a successful partnership lasting 14 years, Ash retired aged 67. (He still calls in from time to time to check on "his baby")Pennie and Terry have continued his tradition of providing quality workmanship, competetive pricing and attention to detail.
The business has continued to grow and our client base of Designers,Interior Decorators, Shopfitters, restauranteurs,retailers,removalists and most importantly, our private clients ensure a steady flow of work.
In fact 80% of our work is from regular or repeat/recommended clients.Some clients have regularly used our services for over 20 years.
